The Time Machine by H. G. Wells
The Time Machine is essentially a story of a time traveler's adventure in the future. However, in the midst of his adventure he guides the reader through concepts of dystopian society, labor vs luxury, the crux of humanity, light vs dark, and the power of the machine. I have to admit that i listened to some course hero videos afterwards to better understand the concepts in the book. Overall, it's a short thoughtful piece to challenge us to think about how we will evolve if we don't change our class systems and systematic oppression.
