Beach Trip by Cathy Holton

Similar type book to the five Star Weekend by Erin Hilderbrand. College roommates reunite for a beach weekend. the book goes into the history of the group, their college years, each person's current story and then "spoiler alert" surprise ending!

Ferris by Kate DiCamilo

I've enjoyed every Kate DiCamillo book I've read and this one is no exception. She is the master of creating an atmosphere and a feeling with timeless settings and whimsical characters. It occurred to me now that Anne Tyler hits me in a similar way--except I have to account for the fact that "Ferris" is a middle grade novel. The feelings are the same though! One thing--and this is probably because I am an older grown-up reading this, but the pattern throughout this book with the vocabulary words and the beloved teacher who drilled them into Ferris and her friend Billy, while very well done and most likely necessary, kind of wore me down. I guess there's a part of me that is stubborn and believes to just put the impossible words in there and the reader will eventually look them up.

Have Yourself a Beary Little Murder by Meg Macy

Book was too simplistic for me. She tried to go for a Jane Marple type character, but missed the mark! Too much importance put on food, clothes and dog! Will not be reading another meg Macy book!

Sh*tty Mom:The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us by Laurie Kilmartin, Karen Moline, Alicia Ybarbo, Mary Ann Zoellner

It's a light-hearted book for moms and soon-to-be moms. I recommend because chapters are short and very funny. You can pick it up and put it down whenever.
